One app, three countries
What made it hard
Build each feature once and use it in the Belgian, Dutch and German apps, with three national teams who each had their own way of doing things.
What I did
-
Joined the Belgian rebuild as a developer, on a project that took testing seriously from the first day.
-
Built Zoomit, the help and contact sections, and the parts that bridged the old screens to the new ones.
-
Moved to the team responsible for keeping all three countries working the same way: the shared tools, tests and release process the others built on.
What came out of it
A banking app whose features were built once and reused across all three countries.
